Account

Your name and your picture. The name is what other people see beside your comments and in a sharing list, so it is worth setting to something they will recognise.

A picture is optional. Without one you get your initials.

Appearance

The typeface you write and read in. There is one choice for ordinary text and a separate one for code, and both apply everywhere you write.

The faces on offer are chosen for reading on a screen for a long time rather than for decoration. If you have no strong view, the one you already have is a reasonable answer.

Light, dark, or whatever your device is doing

Three choices: Light, Dark, and Match my device, which follows whatever your computer or phone is set to and changes with it.

You can switch from settings, from the button at the foot of a document, or by typing the theme you want into the box Ctrl K opens.

Notifications

Four things can reach you, and each can be turned off on its own:

• Somebody comments on one of your documents.
• Somebody replies to a comment of yours.
• Somebody mentions you by name in a comment.
• Somebody shares something with you.

Security messages are not in this list and cannot be turned off. An alert that a new device signed in is only useful if it is the one message you cannot accidentally silence. Keeping your account safe has those.

The other tabs

• AI is where your plan, your allowance and your own API key live. Plans and limits.
• API holds access tokens and the address to give an assistant. Connecting other tools.
• Domain is for serving your pages from an address you own. Sites.
• Security is your password, two step sign in, and the devices you are signed in on.

Deleting your account

At the foot of the account tab. It removes your account and everything in it, and it cannot be undone.

If you would rather talk to somebody first, get in touch. Docmode would rather fix the reason than lose the account.
